Am watching Obama’s speech now — and it is quite stirring. McCain will have a heavy load to carry to give as an effective speech. I consider myself a discerning voter but I find myself getting sucked in to the lofty ideas he’s espousing. And he just used his oft-used line that he doesn’t look like the usual Presidential candidate with the unlikeliest of names. He’s been pretty harsh on McCain also – very harsh on substance. McCain will have to offer a substantive reponse not just an attack back.

Republicans were the ones that pushed for Civil Rights for Blacks in the 60’s Democrats filibustered against it! And Republican’s were the primary drivers of giving Women the vote.

I just got home, the Cubs are down 4-1 in the 8th at home against the Phillies and I’ve been at Republican HDQs most of the night on our Absentee Ballot Request program.

People haven’t been saving for the future, they haven’t been acting like their parents who never spent money they didn’t have.

I read somewhere that pre- WWII only 2% of the houses in the US had mortgages, now only 2% DONT have mortgages (I don’t yeah!)… how is that Bush’s fault…
