President Obama – not

Link about Pakistan surge

Obama bests Clinton in Fundraising

Obama would talk to Rogue leaders

[8/03 update] I’m up early looking at the news and found this article about Pakistan’s ire at Senator Obama’s comments concerning his proposed Pakistan Surge (way to go Cowboy!). Seriously though, this shows how Democrats bounce around on subjects just to get public approval, energy, whatever… One can only assume he thought this might separate him, show his strength – but what it really shows is his limited understanding of what you can say when the entire world is listening. I can be easily amused. He HAS a point, sounds like Bush, but even the idiot President (not my adjective) has the sense not to make these structured remarks. This careless statement could easily lead to more instability in Pakistan and trouble for our ally President Musharraf. — read the link… things are getting interesting for the Senator from Illinois, who remains unready for prime time.

[back to my 8/01 note]

What is wrong with my thoughts here; please tell me.

Barack Obama has a wonderful speaking voice and I’m sure he’s a nice guy with a lovely family. I appreciate his service to the country as a civil rights lawyer and two terms in the Illinois House and mid-way through his first term in the US Senate. He certainly could have made millions settling into the life of a corporate lawyer with his brains and credentials. However, I do NOT believe he is at all qualified to be the Commander In Chief of the US and leader of the free world. At the very least he has no executive experience to manage the largest “business” in the world. (Hillary’s only executive experience is her failed attempt at the Heath Care debacle in 1993 – but that’s another post) At the most, he’s a dangerous risk taker.

Obama leads Clinton in fund raising by quite a bit, but why? Do people look at issues? One thing we know, Democrats look at polls. When the war was popular in the polls the Democrats were in favor of it. When the polls are down … well you know…

Most of what Obama says on the stump is pure rhetoric playing to the democrat base. That Democrat base has been exposed to the most dangerous poison today leading to what is known as the Bush Derangement Syndrome (BDS). Everything President Bush has done is bad. He is an idiot… evil… WMD … yada yada yada – we’ll get into BDS in another post soon.

But in the last few days, Senator Obama is laying out his plan for America. Today, pay attention to what a top tier Democrat Presidential candidate is saying. Relate it to my perception of the most popular infection opportunity for BDS – the War in Iraq. The details can be found all over the web but I’ve posted a few links at the top of this page.

Senator Obama was quoted in the You Tube debates as saying that if President, he would open dialog with the world’s despotic leaders with no preconditions. Conversation with these despots will only acknowledge their power. Even Senator Clinton understands from her time near the oval office what propaganda value a sitting President would afford Ahmadinejad, or his buddy Hugo Chavez. Yeah, but Obama can reach them on a deeper level… I forgot for a moment; Bush is the evil one.

Now in the last few days, polishing his macho side, Senator Obama announces – if President, he would move the troops in Iraq to Afghanistan. And if the US decided there was cause, he would redeploy troops from Afghanistan to Pakistan with or without the permission of the President of Pakistan.

1) I’d like Senator Obama’s take on the results of removing the troops from Iraq. I’ve been telling people even though the Dems want troops out of Iraq, they are not stupid enough to withdraw immediately if, God forbid, a Democrat occupies the White House in February 2009. Gosh maybe I’m wrong.

(Senator Obama also just said preventing genocide in Iraq is not a good reason for the US to stay in Iraq)

2) Entering (with your military) into a country without permission sounds so…. dare I say “Bush like?”… oh my. I thought the Dems’ weren’t THAT way…

3) Pakistan is unstable Muslim country with nuclear power. Does the Senator from Illinois know that? We went into Iraq before Saddam HAD nuclear capacity. How many recent attempts have there been on Musharraf’s life? Two, three serious attempts per year you say?

The President who the Democrats think is deranged, is walking a fine line supporting the Pakistani President who himself is walking an even finer line supporting the terrorist fight against us. (speaking of that, Senator Obama is using that same phrase that Rudy originated 3,4 months ago – Obama = “al-Qaida’s war against us. . .” Rudy = “the terrorist’s war against us).

Recap:
Dialog with sworn enemies, Doesn’t care if redeployment from Iraq creates genocide, Declare war by invading an ally and coalition partner, Don’t forget that country is already very unstable and HAS nukes, suitcase, warheads, the whole lot. (did I say that country was also Muslim?)

Now. I have not attended the Naval War College, the Army War College etc, etc… just your average Joe . . . but the above does not look like a winning strategy to me.

Senator Obama has had a bad week.
